Practical help, clearly scoped

From the first question to a working result.

01

Review the environment before recommending products

We ask what your business needs to protect, who has access and how systems are currently maintained. The review can cover multi-factor authentication, administrator accounts, endpoint protection, updates and backups. Findings become an action list with owners and costs rather than an unexplained score.

02

Turn security settings into repeatable work

A control is useful when someone knows who maintains it. We agree which devices and accounts are covered, how exceptions are handled and what evidence is reported. New staff, departures and lost devices need an approval path as well as a technical procedure.

03

Prepare for an incident before one happens

A practical response plan identifies the business decision-maker, technical contacts and critical services. We help document the first reporting steps and recovery dependencies. Specialist incident response, legal advice and insurer requirements are separate matters to be arranged where needed.

04

Be precise about what has been checked

A configuration review is not a penetration test or a compliance certification. We explain the agreed review boundaries and any systems we could not inspect. Essential Eight guidance can inform priorities, but no maturity level, certification or guarantee is claimed without a separately defined assessment.

Before we talk

A little context helps us get started.

You do not need a technical assessment before making contact. Share what you know; we can work through the gaps together.

  • The systems and information that matter most
  • Your existing security products and administrator contacts
  • Any insurer or customer security requirements
  • Known incidents, unresolved concerns and maintenance gaps

Questions, answered

The details before you decide.

Something specific to your business? Ask Wayrest.

Can you guarantee we will not be hacked?

No provider can remove all risk. We help improve agreed controls and recovery readiness, explain remaining gaps and keep responsibilities clear.

Do small businesses need more than antivirus?

Device protection is one part of the picture. Account access, updates, backups, staff processes and supplier dependencies also need attention based on your business risks.

Can you help us work towards the Essential Eight?

We can use Australian guidance to discuss priorities and scope practical improvements. That work is not an independent maturity certification or an assurance that every requirement has been met.

Is security monitoring included in every plan?

No. Monitoring tools, covered systems, review frequency and response arrangements must be named in your proposal. A software subscription alone does not define a response service.

What if we suspect an active incident?

Call and explain the symptoms and business impact. Availability and support scope still apply. Specialist emergency response may be required; do not assume a general enquiry creates an incident-response engagement.

Will you scan our systems without permission?

No. Access, testing and technical scans require explicit authorisation and an agreed scope. Initial discovery can start with conversation and existing records.

A straightforward next step

Tell us what needs to work better.

We will discuss the setup, the problem and the right next step before proposing work.
